My puppy has a wonderful temperament now. She came to us extremely dominant and with much work on our part she is sweet and kind and gentle. Her health however is the serious problem. She has had many health issues since her arrival but the one of main concern in regard to the breeder is that she has hip dysplasia in both hips and the vet has determined that it is gentic and quite serious.
The breeders started off very friendly and were often in contact with us when we were first investigating the breed and our choices. Once we had decided to buy a puppy from them and sent the money they were hard to get a hold of and no longer answered our questions until I had sent many emails and left many messages. I sent them information regarding the hips of my puppy to which they ignored. They were often unfriendly at that point and have made no attempt to contact us since we received the dog. The contract that they supplied after the dog came made provisions that made it virtually impossible to file a complaint to them about the dogs health. Since getting my puppy I have learned a lot more about contracts and in my opinion Pleasant Hill provides the worst contract available.
My puppy is beautiful and I love her. If I were going to get another puppy however, I would not go through this breeder.

Bing's temperment was perfect as described by everything I've read about the typical Cane Corso. However, he was quickly diagnosed with a Stage IV heart murmur. I contacted John who requested a second opinion. The second opinion was a Stage III heart murmur. Both vets took less than 60 seconds to diagnose him. I find it impossible to believe his vet missed it.
John and his family were more than friendly before they received my money. Once I told John I didn't want a replacement dog, I wanted my money back, John seemed to become very angry in his tone of voice and among other things, he said "I'll send you pictures of him when he is 5 and you will see he'll live a long happy life".
I fell in love with Bing and decided to take a chance and keep him. Bing died at almost 18 months old. I notified John that Bing passed away and did not even receive a word of condolance.

I purchased my puppy Dozer from the new owners of Pleasant Hill Kennels in October of 2007. He was very sweet, loving, and playful as a little puppy and has grown into an athletic, energetic, and protective yet loving… bigger puppy. If you let him, he will lick you until you are red in the face. He stands guard by the bathroom door while my girlfriend is in the shower, and he likes to play guard dog in my front yard. I love that he can look very intimidating to strangers, but everyone that knows him knows that he just wants to play, and chase the ball. I can now feel comfortable leaving my family at home alone all day while I’m at work, because I know they are under the watchful eye of my Cane Corso, Dozer. I couldn’t be happier with Dozer; he is almost a year old, has had no health problems, and is still growing like a weed. I would definitely buy another puppy from this kennel.
It’s unfortunate that this kennel has gotten some negative feedback because of the old owners. They were selling the facility and obviously didn’t care about their clients, or their name and image as a Cane Corso breeder. I have had nothing but good experiences with the new owners, and they were very responsive and friendly. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that if I did encounter a problem that Matt would make it right. I assure you that if you deal with Matt or one of the girls at Pleasant Hill Kennels that they will take care of you, and you will have a great buying experience and a great dog!!

Hi everyone, since I bough my two girls from the new owners of Pleasant Hill Kennels I havn't been happier. Not only are they both drop dead gorgious but both girls have great personalities, and are just awesome with my small children. They really have bonded to us. At first they were a little shy and what I thought was small for their ages....boy was that not for long though, they really have grown like weeds. Both are 6 months old and have hit the 75lb range..Wow!
My puppies were shipped to me safe and sound after I had paid them off, not to mention in a nice new kennel that they could use for a few months wich made house breaking easy. Pleasant hill kennel was a great experience for my family and I wouldn't even think twice about purchasing another beautiful puppy from them in the future, hopefully sooner than later. Egypt and Asia are wonderful healthy cane corso's and we thank the new owners of Pleasant hill kennels!
plus I heard a rumor that Egypt and Asia are wanting a brother (:

As the previous (inherited) owner of Pleasant Hill Kennel until July of 2007, my family was a very avid lover of the Corso breed. When I sold Pleasant Hill Kennel to the now new owners, I chose to keep with me 2 male pups from 2 of my last matings, which were offsprings of the original PHK (foundation) bloodlines. From these same adult Corso are the new owners producing beautiful specimen of the Cane Corso breed while adhering to the standards and continuing the Pleasant Hill Kennel bloodlines.
I would like to commend these individuals on their true professionalism and for their love of the Cane Corso breed.
